Update 1 – Hurricane Maria – Puerto Rico
(Miami, FL 09/19 - 2pm) We would like to update our network partners and customers on the recent developments in Puerto Rico.
As Hurricane Maria approaches Puerto Rico, DB Schenker is working hard to ensure the safety of both our employees and your cargo. The DB Schenker San Juan branch is currently closed in order to allow our employees the time to prepare with their families for the impending storm.
Please note below updates:
For ocean freight cargo:
The Port of San Juan has ceased all operations until further notice. We will continue to monitor closely.
For air freight cargo:
Luis Muñoz Marín Airport (SJU), Puerto Rico is expected to cease operations by 1800hrs today.
We will continue to monitor the storm closely and provide customer updates in the affected areas as we know more.

Logistics Best Practices During Adverse Weather Conditions
To help avoid delays, we encourage you to contact your recipients to verify whether their location is open or able to receive deliveries before and after the storm. In the event of evacuations, shipments not delivered before the storm will be secured in one of our facilities. Delivery will be attempted when it is safe to do so. DB Schenker will be prepared to provide service to the best of our ability in areas affected by the storm and as local conditions allow.
